Handmade from natural manila rope.
A nautical whisk was used on sailing ships hundreds of years ago to clear tables after meals.
Generally made from pieces of rope no longer suitable for normal use.
Smaller nautical swabs were used for washing dishes and much bigger swabs were used for swabbing the decks.
