For Resin Incense (like frankincense, myrrh, copal):

1. Place a little sand or ash at the bottom (this helps absorb heat).
2. Light a charcoal disc (the quick-light ones work best) and set it inside on the sand.
3. Once the charcoal is glowing and turning gray, sprinkle a pinch of resin or herbal blend on top.
4. Smoke will rise — add small amounts as needed.

For Cone Incense:

1. Place a small dish, sand, or foil at the bottom.
2. Set your incense cone upright on it.
3. Light the tip until it glows, then let it smolder.
